Our society urges us to do any number of things because "Now is the Time!"
But how often are we urged to take action as part of our religious responsibilities? Most pleas come with a sense of urgency, that if they are not acted upon, they will pass and the opportunity will be lost.
Is there any urgency in the spiritual journey of Californians today? Urgency is a value of California Southern Baptist Convention. "Urgency in the light of the Imminent Return of Christ" is a strong belief of 2,100 CSBC churches, based on Revelation 22:12 which records, "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done."
What is more important that the souls of 33 million in California who don’t know Jesus? What is more important than a personal relationship with the creator of the world and all in it?
There is urgency among churches today to recommit their energies to fulfill the Great Commission. There is no better place to begin the task of making disciples and baptizing them than in California, where ethnic, language and cultural groups from throughout the world call home.
