• Pray for the powerless and lonely elderly who are poor in the city. Pray particularly for 84-year-old Stephanie who was a homeless child on the streets under Hitler and is now facing eviction after 40 years here.
• Pray for the mentally ill who drift in and out of care and contact. Pray especially for Mike who is seeking to follow Christ but still deals with voices in his head. Pray that He will have courage to deal with the challenges of the day and begin to claim a future that makes sense.
• Pray for the under-employed who have skills and time to give. Pray for those who are homeless, which means that it is hard to look good for an interview and hard to be hopeful.
• Pray for coordination with others who are making a difference in the city. Pray especially that together we can find better ways to utilize our individual advantages and resources.

Andrew Chan, Chinese Church Starting Strategist

• Pray that God will send Spirit-filled men urgently needed to lead two Chinese church plants that are ready to begin ministry.
• Pray that God will revive California’s Chinese pastors with joy as they serve Him.
• Pray that God will protect the pastors from influences that would keep them from being faithful to growing their churches.
• Pray that God will give Anglo and Chinese churches the resolve to start new Chinese churches.

• Pray that California churches will fulfill the vision God has given them for their communities and that many people will come to faith in Jesus.

Sal Fernandez, Hispanic Church Starting Strategist

• Pray for 35 Hispanic churches to be started in and around Sacramento, capital city of the Golden State. The Hispanic population of this area is 250,000, more than half the total population. Currently there is only one Hispanic Southern Baptist congregation in Sacramento Association.

William Nathaniel, Church Starting Strategist, Bay Area

• Pray for a new Nepalese church start in Berkeley. A study suggests there are 10,000 Nepalese living in the Bay Area. Please pray for this church planter as he builds up this church to grow and reach other from Nepal the Bay Area. Pray specifically for a church building in the Berkeley area where they can meet and worship.

Don Overstreet, Church Starting Strategist

• Pray for the cooperative ministries of churches to reach unreached people groups in the Los Angeles area.
• Pray for the inner-city skid row ministries.
• Pray that God will open doors to reach young professionals who are moving into new lofts and high-rise apartments in downtown Los Angeles.
• Pray that God will continue to provide church planters and the finances for CSBC’s church planting movement.
   

Oscar Sanchez, Migrant Ministries Field Specialist

• Pray that the hearts of men and women, boys and girls will be prepared to receive the Gospel presented at the 60 migrant centers and in cities.
• Pray that God will empower workers to follow up on those who make decisions for Christ through the migrant ministry.

• Pray that God would provide the semester and summer missionaries that we need.
• Pray that several of the older children, who are very close to salvation, would invite Jesus into their hearts.
• Pray that God will meet our needs for future staff housing.
• Pray that God will help us reach even more affluent and transient people for the Kingdom.

• The world is truly at California’s doorstep. God is working and California Southern Baptists have a never before opportunity to engage different cultures in order to lead them to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Please pray for wisdom and discernment as God has placed us here for such a time as this.
• Islam is very prevalent in our world today. There are more than one billion Muslims worldwide and this number is growing rapidly. Please pray as we have the opportunity to impact Muslim cultures here in California and around the world through Muslims who come to Christ in California.
